England are 6/202 with Bell and Stokes back in the dressing rooms, Prior on 8 and Bresnan on 4
Question Author
Two more gone, England 8/229 Broad gone for 5
Question Author
England all out for 251, they've gone to lunch
Seekerz,
Crow away, you've every right as the Urn is now yours, handed over in some of the most idiotic, spineless and diabolical cricket I've seen in many a year.
And to think When Smith came out to bat in very difficult circumstances the other day, Prior was heard to say he was "one innings awY from being dropped'.
From the guy who is averaging 18 and whose only contribution thus far was 69 when the match was gone, pressure off and expectations low.
Prior is 5 Test matches overdue for being dropped and I am still waiting for Flower to take those "tough decisions" he promised us.......

Good morning Chill, not the best thing to wake up to, particular the sight of Broad limping in the nets and now ... Where is he going...hospital by the looks...oh what rotten luck !

No surprises for sqad......my bet with a mate that England doesn't win a match looks good.

Last series...we struggled for an opening pair.......openers are still vulnerable.
Last series....Broad and Anderson were over praised....nothing has changed.
Last series....middle order vulnerable.......it is more fragile this summer.

3 months later......what do you expect ....we are weaker and the Aussies have strengthened.

My bet looks safe.

seekeerz, my only hope is Clarke declares at stumps and puts us out of misery tomorrow
One wag in the Australian media has published a headline: Not for the first time, Broad has difficulty walking.
It's at times like these one feels sorry for the Barmy Army. Thousands of pounds down the drain, one stating that he has spare tickets for the Boxing Day Test and he can't give them away. And Botham was right, it will be 5-0, but not to the tourists.
The only bonus out of this whole debacle is that we have a reason now to get rid of the dead wood and build a team for the next era.
Too many have toured here on distant reputations and made the side without showing any form. That will shortly come to an abrupt end.
If Clarke does declare and they get to skittle England out tomorrow, would that break some kind of record i.e. the first 3 matches of an Ashes tour not making it to day 5?
COP and Australia lead by 369. Congratulations seekerz, apologies for not making more of a contest of it.
you could drop the whole team except Cook and Broad. If you had nine men who even looked like being good enough to replace them.
not many months ago when the aussies struggled to give as a game
the Aussies turned around fast, and what's more they did it without dumping anyone, just doing better with the people they had.

Actually, they did dump the coach, which clearly helped. I don't imagine England will, though. And next in line is the King of Spain, so I hope they don't.

Couldn't do any worse! Series and Ashes gone, may as well use two dead rubbers to start the transition in readiness for next summer.
Couldn't do any worse!

Oh yes you could. As I mentioned before, they tried out Woakes and Kerrigan at the Oval in the summer... so that's two more to kick out of the queue.
on this form, saving a series whitewash'll be a result...

I'm just happy to see my team playing a whole lot batter than they were in England ... Imagine what it would/could be like if both were at their peak !
hat tip seekeerz, we're being outplayed all ends up

Well, they're not in contention this time. So when do you propose those in the queue DO actually get their chance to show their mettle?
Or shall we just continue with the old and bold who are drastically out of form, confidence and belief?
