Ken, you are right, I sound like a serial budgie-burier. :o/
We used to rescue them (saw some appalling sights - there are some cruel ********* in this world).
Anyhoo, for many years we had indoor and outdoor aviaries and hospital cages full of these lovely little creatures.
We eventually had to stop burying them due to limited space in our garden, so OH built a small cremator. We still used the inside of kitchen rolls as mini coffins though, found them ideal for the job.
Btw, to the person who mentioned BS's bird being ill ....birds are very good at hiding their illness until, sadly, it is too late for them to be helped.
I believe this stems from the fact that in the wild, the sick and weak will be targeted and killed.
