Are people missing the fact that Perry has set a precedent here? He likes dresses and went for his gong wearing one. Now what's to stop someone with a taste for black leather and denim turning up for their award looking as though they just come from a BDSM party?

Firstly, only those men who feel comfortable wearing dresses in public need apply. Presumably, such people will be glad that the precedent has been set because it means that they can feel free to be themselves. Why, again, is this such a bad thing?

Secondly, all clothing will still have to be cleared with the palace first. My money is on their not clearing thigh-high boots and miniskirts and time soon. Formal attire only.

I don't see that anybody is saying that it is a bad thing jim, just a silly thing.

I still don't understand why Perry is keen to draw attention to himself, rather than his art ?
