I'm finding it very successful and am averaging about 3lbs a week and have been since January. The amount you lose will be affected by the amount you need to lose (I have about 4stones to go and have lost one and a bit already). Because muscle uses more energy than fat, it's a good idea to keep up the exercise. The other thing I'm doing is to keep a food diary - to make sure I don't overheat on non-fast days.
You don't, of course, need to eat salads! Home-made soups and stir-fries can be healthy, low calorie and hot alternatives.
