As we all do I learnt things as I grew, and at some point as a young kid will have heard of April Fools' day. I joined in the fun. Then I recall a couple of years later doing exactly the same and someone then trying to pretend I was the fool because it was after noon. First I'd ever been told of it and I was most annoyed. (Seems to be the case folk love to tell kids half a story for a laugh.) But in any case I decided that had to be simply nonsense made up by someone embarrassed to have been made the fool, and taken up and repeated by others in the same boat. After all it is April Fools' Day not April Fools' Morning.
