Our council refused a second Tesco store in the town 3 times but Tesco appealed against it every time , now Tesco have forced the plan through even though the council are still 100% against it. The council say they can't afford to fight it anymore so are forced to allow it. That is the sort of thing this woman was trying to highlight.
then they all need to fight harder. sorry but unless they do so, the countryside in England will disappear. Friends who live outside the capital in Sussex are seeing many villages, towns disappear under the weight of massive one size fits all boxy housing estates, and these huge stores like Tesco, Sainsburys.

It was a particularly ill-judged phrase used to make a point.
I think it was said without due care and forethought, but in the lady's favour, she has acknowledged her error and apologised.
But in context, it was simply a careless use of an unpleasant expression - and a line should be drawn under it.

Well, let's look at it from a pragmatic point of view.......if it is INEVITABLE that a woman is going to be raped. there are only two situations.
Firstly you are going to kick and struggle and clearly hate and abhor the procedure OR "lie back and try to enjoy it"........if possible.
Some women fantasise about being raped and more particularly by being raped by a black man.
Yes, not an ideal thing for our councillor to say, but not the "big deal" that it has been made to be.

Enjoy it 'if possible'? What's life like in 1968?

if anyone has had the misfortune to go this route, and i have, its not a case of lie back and enjoy it, or that it happens in dark alleyways, it doesn't always, and whoever thinks so should think again - if someone were to punch you its hardly likely you would go on kicking and screaming
female or male rape is not something to be bandied about lightly,
as to fantasy rape, oh please, that is porn nonsense
as to the idiot woman, she should just shut the hell up, and next time
think before engaging brain
