So people with troubles shouldn't be allowed pets?

My son is getting a cat in the next few weeks. A standard moggie who will be named Ivan.

I would not allow him to get a pet unless I was willing to take 100% responsibility for it.
Any moggie that needs a home. Get one from a shelter. Name chairman meow.
If it's a hypothetical question from your parents why not tell them it doesn't matter what sort of cat as long as you can love it and it shows affection in return.
A cat needs a furever home, dont get it , if you cannot ensure that it will be safe and happy.
Cats need what they decide they want when they decide they want it.
As I mentioned in a previous post, Norwegian Forest Cats have the ability to climb down trees head first. So if your pet were to climb a tree, you wouldn't have to call out the fire brigade to get it back! They come in all colours and make good pets. (See Google).
ummmm I think this particular young lady has got enough on her plate without taking on responsibility for another living being.
Ask them for a panthera tigris sondaica.
Please dont help this girl get a cat or give ideas on what breed etc. in her other post she is thinking of runnung away .....
Woof....that's why I said I would never allow my child to get a pet unless I was willing to take 100% responsibility for it.
