Was in Sainsbury's today behind one customer with her shopping, she was almost finished and I had just five items hoping for a quick getaway, but she produced a pile of vouchers etc and rummaged through them, felt sorry for the poor girl on the till, she had out of date vouchers and kept checking I took my shopping to the paper counter couldn't wait for this inept customer why don't people have the necessary stuff ready, rant over!

I've been stuck more than once by people who hand over wads of vouchers and then each one has to be checked that they've actually bought the product. It is very irritating but sadly some of those in front don't care about those behind.

There should be separate queues for men ... with chairs, complimentary snacks, tots of whisky ... why not, every other *** gets some sort of inducement.

Agree Tilly and save all that aggro, you end up with enough vouchers to paper the walls and then when you want use them they are out of date!
Cash back - how is this beneficial to a store. Another thing usually these supermarkets have ATM where it is easy enough to get your money.
Blow that, s-d - it's OH who gets the treat of packing the trolley :-)
Supermarkets LOVE cashback. Cashing up and getting the cash to the bank costs them a lot more money than card transactions. They'd be very happy with no cash at all in the tills.

Anyhow, I love my Tesco vouchers. Why haven't people got time to breathe these days? I can do without people behind me huffing and puffing and tapping their feet. As it happens I am pretty nifty through the checkout but I really dread getting old and infirm with these attitudes.

And the people who just want to buy a paper at the paper counter are probably just as fed up as you with people taking their groceries to be checked out. All they want is their blerdy paper!
OK - then do what I do with my vouchers - keep them in a separate little plastic wallet with my shopping list, and make a list of the vouchers and their expiry dates. I appreciate that sounds a bit nerdy, but I never have to forage in my bag nor attempt to spend an out of date vouchers. All it needs is a bit of pre-planning :-)

hc - I could hug you.

There was none at paper counter that's why I went there I wouldn't hold anybody up, people with vouchers should have them ready, even the assistant was frustrated!
What was your plan for the minutes that you lost waiting for someone infront of you to finish her shopping ?
I guess I'm just not the sort of person who gets frustrated with queuing - it's doesn't bother me at all. What DOES irritate me is the people who insist on doing all their packing before they even think to start looking for their purse.....
I use money off vouchers, can't afford not to - always check they are valid and have them in my hand ready along with my debit card when the total is up on the till.
