Is it possible to get the result of a case that went to court a few weeks ago. Are these court records available on the internet for anyone to see? If not, how do you find our what the result of a particular case was? Many thanks.
The case papers for a court case are, indeed, subject to the '30-year rule'. However, every court has to maintain a Court Register, which is a public document and contains basic information about all court appearances.
It all depends on why you want the information in the firstplace. If,for example you wanted to know what had happened to someone who had been charged with a motoring offence and this offence had involved damage to your car,you can write to the court and ask for a Memorandum of Conviction.Be warned though,it will cost you 25!
