Can't Open Aol Mail

Not with aol as provider but use aol mail for email. Can't open and access any emails despite seeing I have one and who from.Need to be able to restore this as awaiting visa details apart from anything else. Never had this problem before.Have deleted temp files and history under tools as was suggested in ahelp section but still no joy.Have windows 8 and internet explorer which been using without problem and not got on well when in past used firefox.Any help please,thanks

I just tried to log into my old AOL account, never had a problem before but today it won't let me, just says 'service error'. Maybe they are having a problem at the moment
