We have seen a rise of the Far-Right in Germany, due to the huge influx of migrants, an UKIP MEP threatened with a hand gun in one of the Calais camps, and now scenes like this, carried out by foreign police forces that are a lot less tolerant than our own.

Perhaps Boris should get his water cannons out, or at least hire them out to those who are not slow in using such devices?

I'm not sure that the solution - if there is one - to the immediate crisis will be assisted simply by adding water.

Boris is Mayor of London and an MP there. He is not in charge of UK, or EU borders. The water cannons he bought at huge expense are gathering dust and are a reckless waste of public money.

We should be giving the Greeks every help we can. The more we stop getting into Europe at its external borders, the less there are to get to our border.

But the good news is - we haven't seen a rise in far right support here.

In fact, at the last General Election, the BNP were wiped out.*

So - not all doom and gloom.
