reading for a wedding

i have been asked to read something, of my own choice, at my brother's wedding. Any suggestions for something interesting and nice?

meaning of word clev vy (?? cleibhe)

inour old kitchen we call the shelf over the fireplace the "clev vy". I imagine it is an irish word in origin, but I have never been able to find the source of it. Any ideas ??
