Windows Live Messenger error msg

When ever I log into Messenger 8.5 I used to get a small pop up window (about 4" across) that would have links to my email, the news,entertainment etc. Now all I get is an error pop up saying:...

Is anyone else having problems installing the newest MSN Messenger Live?

When I try to install the newest version of MSN Messenger Live, it tells me it cannot be installed until I upgrade to Windows XP. I have had Windows XP on my computer for years, validated properly...
