Computer RAM

I Have 2 areas of RAM on my computer, one is full. How do i either move data to the empty area or get the computer to automaticaly save information to this area ?

How do you download photos to ipod touch. Manual tells you there is a photo option under devices on itunes but don't seem to have that option

everytime i try to download the latest software 4.2 it crashes my ipod (3rd Gen). It's a new machine should i take back as faulty ? or any ideas.
