Computer problem.......doesn't exist so can't delete! Help!

I seem to have a programme running on my computer but when I try to shut it down a pop-up tells me that it doesn't exist! I know it's a bit vague but can anyone please offer me some advice?

How to change the thermostat?

Vauxhall Astra 2000W......I suspect thermostat stuck open or non-existent. Slow to heat up and goes cold quickly. Temp gauge hardly moves above lowest indication. Is it easy enough to check?
