An ABer, who, some time ago, asked for help with a crossword clue, was chided for not giving a 'thank you' to those who assisted. The ABer's reply indicated surprise that a 'thank you' might be considered a desirable thing to do. 'I didn't think that it was necessary to say thank you' was the tone of the reply. So, perhaps some people ask questions and assume that the answers are provided by robots who/which just sit here and wait to be activated?
