Why Are Certain Abers Allowed To Highjack Certain Threads?

Today I had the need to ask the Editor to remove a perfectly reasonable thread appertaining to the recent riot taking place on a street in London.

From the off set this thread was high-jacked by certain members who obviously have taken a dislike to not only me personally, but also to the threads that I place on the news section of answerbank.

I did report one of the offenders, but no action against him was taken

The ED or someone else was good enough to remove the thread, but did not take the opportunity to chastise the offending members.

AOG....no! no! no!...you have got it all wrong.......the Ed isn't interested and neither was the one before. I suggested many years ago when AB was again in turmoil, but for different reasons that certain ABers should be banned.....just my opinion. So what happened, the Ed banned the "characters" and made 2or 3 of the "troublemakers" Moderators. Well that...

Sqad, some posters would phrase those questions as:

Should condoms be sold in the street so men can have safe sex with filthy prostitutes?

Should facilities be provided for breast feeding mothers or should the exhibitionists just flop em out whenever and wherever?
I have always telt ANOTHEOLDGIT to report posts if he thinks they have contravened the rules. If he chooses not to do so, that's up to him. If reported posts are not removed or no action is taken against particular individuals then perhaps that is an indication that he's the one at fault and not us.
h.c...LOL.....LOL......whatever.....LOL...
Sqad, I'm afraid I'll continue posting as I see fit.

AOG, I know 'ethnics' (hideous word to,describe another human being btw) come in all colours. Which shade were you referring to when you said 'certain'?

/// Debates on the News have turned into mud-slinging
insults. ///

This is not the News Section and yet they continue, mainly by "the likes of you".

I refer you to your recent post:

/// I mean, seriously, I know he's always been cantankerous but it's really getting out of hand now. ///

cor, the Ed-ess is going to have a field -day on Monday reading this lot of utter guff
(yes I know, I've posted on it too)
ooooh, I've been promoted, I'm now one of the 'likes of you'

oh dear me.
ANOTHEOLDGIT, putting quotes around 'the likes of you' does not make it any less condescending, especially as it could be taken as having been said by the person to whom it's addressed.

I am not suggesting that the ABED is treating me unfairly, I am also not criticising her publicly.

I have posted this on Editor's Blog so she can see a prime example of what went off on the news thread I requested to have removed.

More or less like hanging the dirty washing out for all to see.
You really don't understand irony do you AOG?
AOG I would forget all about this thread and start one of your cracking comedy threads in CB ... go on, you know you want to.
ANOTHEOLDGIT, do you not think the Ab Editor can see deleted threads or posts?
Of course she can! AOG is just playing the victim.
If you're saying certain folk are being allowed to hijack threads but you're not criticising the Ab Editor, who are you criticising then?

Ditto:

Well this has been most entertaining of AB threads for at least 3or4 days. I have had a burger for my lunch whilst being entertained and i am now going for a swim ( we have our OWN pool you know!)
Or until you get the hump and ask for your post/thread to be removed to hide the weakness in your debating skills...

Or perhaps it is because since they altered the site, I no longer know the correct way to post a report?

What is with this password request and the blank top window?
I politely agree with Mamyalynne. Write clearly, say what it is you're talking about, and it leaves minimum scope for people to impose their own spin. If one doesn't, then perhaps one is already imposing one's own spin.
