Spicing Up Ab
129 Answers
Complaints that AB, and in particular the News section is being commandeered by a few people obsessed with Brexit, Boris, and the perceived ills of the government, abound, so here's an idea. If enough of us post other, unrelated news, that which is either sending us to sleep or driving us to distraction will no longer dominate. If we don't make the effort to change it, it won't change, so how about it?

Instead MODs are actively taking part in the campaign against some users and the Eds seem to be happy for it to remain.
Not for the first time blatant bullying is allowed to remain on this site. //
I cannot speak for my fellow Moderators, but if you check, you will see that I have contributed three posts - one to advise that I concur with my colleague's assessment of the obsession with Brexit and related issues, the second to advise Gulliver that his post is unlikely to be removed, despite his carping, and it hasn't, and lastly a light-hearted response to his doubtless sarcastic advice of his intention to leave.
I do not regard that as 'bullying' in any sense of the word.
Let's be clear - Gulliver is more than capable of standing up for himself, and often resorts to rudeness and insults, as he has done to me on this thread, so the notion that he is being 'bullied' does not fly, which is why, i suggest, there has been no Editorial comment or action.

gulliver - // Do you think if I just changed my user name It might help? //
It's not your user name that is the issue.
It's your one-track provocative OP's followed by rudeness and a complete inability to actually debate with anyone who disagrees with your views.
That is unlikely to change, no matter what you call yourself.

Redhelen - // Or because perhaps the brand of AB is now happy to allow bullying has it has allowed it to remain in the past despite several reports by several users. //
I don't believe the AB brand does allow bullying, and if you highlight any instances, and i see them, I will be happy to assess and act if appropriate.
However, in the terms of this thread, i do not believe that 'bullying' is taking place, as I have already outlined.
The News Section has long been a bastion of forthright debate and strong opinions - and Gulliver is perfectly happy to post and criticise others on a regular basis.
I do not see any evidence of him being 'bullied'.

Redhelen - // Well Andy we will have to agree to disagree because it is on AB almost everyday - its on here on this page but again. its ignored!
Ca la vie - what a mire AB has turned into //
If you feel any posts are inappropriate, you have the right of challenge via the Report button, and the Ed will decide if anything should be removed, or any advice to posters given.

Helen, all of gulliver's posts are just shouting the same thing over and over, no debate is ever entered into. Insults are flung out all the time. He's like the little shouty bloke who walks into a pub shouts his views on his pet subjects insults everyone then moans when people push back. Hymie much the same. You surely must be able to see that.
Redhelen72 //Khandro that advice could also be aimed at you//
Always ready to learn & be corrected, I just did what you suggested & I can't see one single question of mine which could be construed as being in any way provocative, can you?

Gulliver - You are oversensitive when it suits you, which is most of the time.
If you spent as much time actually discussing your views, and the reasons for them, as you do nitpicking and feeling sorry for yourself, you'd be a lot less under criticism.
When you look at how many people you fall out with, do you ever consider that some of the responsibility for that may actually lie with you?
Something to think about ...
