Lovely summerish day, loads and loads of tourists and oap's,, we saw three empty coaches coming abck from this end last night when we were coming back from airport. I honestly cannot believe how many people there are about today. Where did I put my summer clothes???

I loathe ironing . My old friend Jeannie used to do my ironing many moons ago when I was juggling work and home .She used to do ironing for pin money .
I iron as little as possible these days although I do like a nicely ironed tea towel and duvet covers and pillow slips must be ironed .I save it up and then have a blitz ,sitting down at intervals .

We had purple sprouting broccoli with our dinner this evening .Lovely .
I'm going to sprout orf to bed as we may go into town tomorrow .Mr S wants clothes .I'll have to go with him or he'll come back with things that would suit Coco the Clown .

the gardens at Highgrove were wonderful. All sorts of different rooms, full of trees and flowers in blossom. We didn't see all of them - apparently the Islamic garden doesn't open till after Chelsea.There was one called the stumpery, full of arches and arbours made from dead wood. Lots with angular topiary (one yew looking like Chrsitmas pudding with holly on top). . Some others very natural, full of winding paths and wildflowers. Lots of food growing - apparently he gave Zara and her man three trays of cauliflowers for their wedding. And lots of heritage apples growing, though they're not quite sure what they all are as nobody every wrote it down properly. He's doing a great job with it all.
Only 6 of us on our tour. The guide said they don't fill up until May; the usual is 20 people or so. It was a nice warm day, some sun, so good for walking round gardens.
Apparently it's not all plain sailing. The ground elder drives them nuts and every so often they have to dig up whole gardens and start again, but it never goes away. Tulips won't grow, the southern hemisphere tree ferns have mostly been killed off by frosty winters, and bunnies keep eating everything.

I got up to a messy house today, I hate it, cups and plates to put away cushions to straighten, I can't go on and the cat decided to vomit in the middle of the carpet. And you lot think you have troubles!!!

Chips on the market for lunch by the look of it .Our usual pub lunch place has closed down .Such a shame as they did lovely grub .
