Above and I went for a walk on Saturday - as we were coming up the drive it was like the film excerpt "ok for the Ok Corral" or something like that. All the kids dived into hedges onto tops of cars and on top of trailers - this is all because of all his barks.

It broke my heart cos in 10 years he has never bitten any one person - - unbehold to me didn't he get under his lead ie collar and started to run around with a kiddie's ball and the kiddy was screaming. My heart broke again. I am sick of everything cos he is a good dog and everybody hates him - JJCon

Some people just aren't doggie people. It may not be your dog in particular, just dogs in general. Not all dog owners are responsible people. When my son was about 5 years old we were walking in some local woods when a pack of about 5 dogs knocked him over and stood over him barking. He was absolutely petrified. I know that none of them bit him, but he honestly thought that he was going to be mauled. The owner just laughed and said that they were soft dogs. Believe you me it didn't look like that to either my son or myself. So don't be sick of 'everything' just be proud of yourself that you've got a good dog and that you are a responsible dog owner.

no was on his lead but because of his tumour on his throat the collar that bit loose resulting in that he is cute he wriggled his head out of it.

ael, I think Mr Harv is a very yappy dog, judging by previous posts. Perhaps the children are scared of him because they see the yappiness as aggression?

Why should he be on the lead on his own drive ??

I hate the way it is now jenny too. Children often disperse when they see my elderly dog plodding along, even if my son is with us. He hasn't got a nasty bone in his body, but because a minority attack (usually owned by pathetic owners), most people seem to think ALL dogs are dangerous. Gets on my wick !!

A Drive can be a road/avenue - eg Acacia Drive.


I agree a chest harness would be more comfy for him and then the children would not freak out knowing he was secured.

I have a harness for him which I will now use - but the one family of 3 children ie 12 years old 4 and 5 - one of their dogs bit them on the face in fact this dog (before they eventually got rid of it) bit a further 3 neighbours' ankles and a ladies leg resulting the lady (who was a diabetic) having to attend hospital for a year - not an acknowledgement was ever given by the owner of the said dog nor even a bunch of flowers yet these are the worst of the kids in the street to show their fear. I do live in a cul-de-sac where there are no kerbs so they (kids) are everywhere and also not always from the street either.

Dogs should be under control at all times if there is a chance other people could be about. I don't want some dog slobbering over me or my children, much less yapping/barking at them, tripping them up or pushing them over or, worse case scenario, biting one if us. All dogs are lovely, sweet natured, etc until they turn nasty (doesn't happen often but it does happen ).
