So have I ?(gentle answers please) - I've come back from the vets today having been 'persuaded' with a tube of cat toothpaste which I'm supposed to use daily with a cotton bud until my kitten gets older then upgrade to a cat toothbrush.....
Well, good luck to you.
I wouldn't dare to try brushing my cat's teeth.....even with leather gauntlets on.
Maybe starting with a kitten would be OK.....maybe.....
Did the vet actually demonstrate what to do on the actual kitten, not just telling you ?
hmm, it's unusual for a vet to recommend that especially for a kitten as they lose their milk teeth anyway at 5-6 months anyway as their adult teeth grow through.
My vet said as long as biscuits are provided too, the plaque should not be a problem in most cases.
Does the tube have garfield on it? and did they secondary sell a mouse shaped toothbrush :-)
I can't actually knock their veterinary care but they often try to push other items on me like Petplan, Royal Canin food, commission I expect.
I don't think I'll bother with the toothpaste, not unless I get a pair of Boo's gauntlets.
I tried brushing teeth with my dog - he ate the toothpaste and most of the toothbrush.
If your little one is still very young then it may actually work. The problem with evil fleabags (cats) is that if they don't want to do something then they will just get the weapons out to persuade us to go away.
