National Park has been deliberately shot at with a bow and arrow and hours later when that hadn't killed him he was shot and killed by an American dentist. The killing itself is bad enough but the repercussions for Cecil's offspring are dire.

Prosector General in Zimbabwe has started the process to have The Dentist extradited to from US to Zimbabwe to face charges.

How much longer can he hide? The hunter is now the hunted. Love the irony.

Cecil after Cecil Rhodes and Leander after Leander Starr.

Me too Tony. I'm watching the Freddie Mercury programme but I'll switch over to Sky News when the ads are on and see if they have any further news on there.

Daisy I have no idea. I don't get it at all why anyone would want to take the life of such a magnificent creature. This will be so poignant if true as the report says Jericho was protecting his brother's cubs.

true tony - just wondered why Leander had been mentioned earlier and not Jericho - can see the connection with Cecil and Leander but not with Jericho and usually names go with themes - no matter, all will be revealed soon I'm sure.

It sounds as if another lion has been poached whether it is Cecil's brother or not.
