It started as an accident with my cat but I think he became lazy when he thought he was getting off with it.
He is fine now.

hi dris i have rubbed her nose in it and literally threw her outside shouting and swearing....
i will go in to the pet shop and ask about get off as im at my wits end and so paranoid that she starts p1ssing in the bedrooms. luckily for her she hasn"t. i do really love her but its really getting on my nerves.

LOL -ive done the lashing out the door bit as well -he certainly has got the message now -no pussy footing (pun intended) as far as thats concerned -the house was minging and I couldnt find where the smell was coming from for the life of me.When I took my hand off the affected area I had the severe boak but at least I knew it wasnt cos the house was dirty or the mains had burst !
Sorry but rubbing their noses in it is no use and neither is bodily flinging an old cat outdoors. I know it's an absolute pain as one of mine used to do it but the poor cat is probably scared and she doesn't really understand.
First off get a litter tray for her and encourage her to use that. Someone I know found their cat peeing in the same place in the kitchen and once she had cleared it she started putting the cat's food down in that place to stop her using it as a toilet - that has worked.

Get a litter tray so your cat does not have to go outside. If you put it somewhere that is quiet the cat will probably happily use it all the time.
If you cannot stand to do that then maybe it is time to let your cat go, otherwise if you continue letting her out and a fox does get her (because she is getting old she will be slower) she will have a very painful and possibly prolonged death. If she gets badly injured she may not be able to drag herself home.
I would also get the vet to check her over, she may have a medical problem if she is getting old (like her kidneys failing).

O please dont think that it was cruel -it wasnt done in a cruel way -my cat is my baby -he is honestly so spoilt.
I had a suspicion the PB brigade (sorry) would get their claws out once I had posted.
Buddy wasnt lashed against a brick wall so he was concussed -OMG -the very thought i could be cruel.
If I choose to gently rub his nose in oit -then thats mt perogative -I dont need to be pulled up for it and lastly Buddy is so spoilt he would chance his paw at anything and dont we know it and in my case he was just being lazy because he has stopped it -see you can teach a cat new tricks.O another thing I did clean the corner manically and spray it and he just found another corner -you just have to be on top of the situation.
O BTW -I personally donet need anyone to tell me how to treat my cat -each to their own - I just dont critisise anyone elses practtices.
Buddy wont have a litter tray as he loves being outdoors and to encourage him to be a lazy fat cat who just had to wander off and pee in a tray and never go out would be cruel.
Just like humans to a certain extent -no two cats are alike.
Man -I and hussy prob both feel like we maltreat our cats and TBH in my case (and hussys although cant speak for her) there is no cat IMO in the world better treated and spoliled like Buddy -just dont like the smell of cats p!ss or litter trays for that matter -thats is only my opinion.

well BOO, PMSL at your comments, but not at the thought of the poor cat, sorry but rubbing a cats, or a dogs nose in their own urine, doesnt work, in fact just the opposite, and it is cruel and unnecessary. Wouldnt blame her if she did p1ss in your bedroom, or would you resort to throwing her out the bedroom window.
Buy her a litter tray, when cats get older, they dont spend so much time outside, especially when it is cold. You can get a litter tray with a hood on, if you are worried about the smell (there isnt any if you clean it out regularly) but she may not want to use it with the hood at first, so leave it off for a few days until she gets the idea.
Clean the lino with biological washing powder and soda crystals to remove the smell.

boo -I took it in the spirit it was intended -if hussy couldnt care less why would she bother posting let alone have a cat.
In Scotland -this is where sometimes regional differences occur throwing and swearing and myself saying lashing doesnt actually mean it literally -its like putting your cat pout at night but saying ya little buer ya.
O and BTW -in the case of Buddy he soon got the message when he had to lick it off his nose -OK took a couple of times but we got there in the end.
We are moving house and do you know what the main criteria is for the location -yip youve got it -Buddy.
We cant move to Spain to live because -yip youve got it Buddy.
Cats are fly and if you let them off with it then you'll end up smelling of cats p!ss and your house will be disgusting -a litter tray IMO for a 6yr old cat is like putting a nappy ona 6yr old child because you cant be bothered training them.

well put the litter tray where the baby cant get at it, its not difficult?
As for the smell and to avoid her going in the same place if the washing powder doesnt work get some urine deodoriser, there are plenty of different products on the market.
