Flowers on a fig?

I have a nice brown Turkey fig tree in a pot. I get about six figs a year and very nice they are too. BUT I have never seen any flowers on my fig tree, just suddenly tiny figs appear. So...do figs flower and if so when and what do the flowers look like? and if figs don't flower, where do the tiny figs come from??

Evening everybody! Nice to see we're all getting settled in. It looks ever so comfy in here. I've not been around for a little while cos I'm now suffering with nose bleeds all something to do with this b***** virus. I'm getting to sound a right moaning minnie and my social life's gone awol. Just finished working. Would someone put the warming pan in and make me a large cup of Cocoa please. Working ain't good for you - I have just decided! (Actually I quite enjoy it 'cos I get most of the day free and mainly work in the evening. Finding it dificult to get back into a routine though).
