I have a nice brown Turkey fig tree in a pot. I get about six figs a year and very nice they are too. BUT I have never seen any flowers on my fig tree, just suddenly tiny figs appear. So...do figs flower and if so when and what do the flowers look like? and if figs don't flower, where do the tiny figs come from??

Afternoon.figgys..now what idiot said spring was in the air...while walking on woolacombe beach....um..are just ignore him next time..So your a mammoth granny Robinia..blimey how many grandchildren you got...?I often get that problem...re-reading stuff on the screen.Strange...it only happens to me on a saturday night...?and sunday morning..!..Ha..Ha....blimey netti, your Bazooms that big..no wonder the donkeys only got 3 legs....!!still look on the bright side..its always handy to have extra airbags.when your driving..(:)

Neti, you should be able to open as many yahoo or google screens as you so desire. However, without seeing your computer, its difficult to explain. i.e. when you minimise each screen they will still be showing across the bottom of your screen and just maximising them will bring each screen to the front....

I would love to pop over and just explain it all. Just send me the airtickets!!! It will take approximately two months in Ibiza to explain properly. (Thinks, ha ha cheap holiday coming up!!!)

gessoo you can be this months PlayBiddy centrefold - we'll be careful where we stick the staples....
netti, just type in" fig"on the search this site.(:)

This is for gessoo , a wing seat was all I could get, it'll be cold!!!

forgessoo

gessoo that is what I do but when figgybank is minimised, and I select some witty piccy on google, figgybank disappears with all my writing.
Neti,,,, have you got a thing at the top on your toolbar that says "new tab"? If so click on that and it will open a new window and then you will still have figgybank showing. Then you can just click on each tab as you need it ..so if you are half way through writing a figgy post you can still go to another window and then back to figgybank again and all your post will still be on the screen for you to add a picture or whatever.
I give up - cannot find new tab but as my machine is half in Spanish and half in English it could be anything.I'll ask my daughter when she is a mood for talking! I can continue on but it's just so annoying and my profile still isn't working. Computer is only 18months old with Windows XP.

just tried. I have bt broadband and what I do is reconnect to the internet so I have 2 live windows. Btyahoo have the tab thing across the top but I have never got the hang of it.

This gives me a googling window and a figgy bank window and you don't lose the "post an answer box" or its contents

Hi Neti, Jude & shaneystar - thanking you all too for your birthday wishes for Mr Smudge's 60th.

Just finished clearing up & washed the scullery floor after having all the family round last night - eating birthday cake inbetween, naughty but nice!

Neti - It's usually much easier to copy a pic first, then type your comments, then paste it. Hope that helps.

Having said that Neti, I don't lose any text when minimising, copying from the Internet, then maximising & pasting.

Well that is what I do at moment smudge , but it's only recently that I lost the power to google and figgy at same time. And then sometimes I've written something rather witty and think "oh I'll send a piccy aswell" and then loose the darned lot.
Just looked up 'fig' in search Vinny! He, he, any new users looking for hints on figs and fig trees are going to have a great time wondering what on earth this site is all about!

Hi all, special message for shaneystar! I did suet pudding in the microwave last night and it was fab.

I found my 30 year old toshiba microwave recipe book and there it was!

You need to have your filling cooked and hot. For two of us I made 6oz of pastry (2 oz suet, 4 oz sr flour, pinch of salt) and just squidged it out into a rough circle and plonked it on the filling (chicken and mushroom in gravy home made). I didn't line the bowl with pastry. Then I nuked it for 8 minutes on 700 watts. The trick is to put a cup of water in the microwave with the pudding to make steam and stop the pastry drying out.

For those of you who haven't tried it, M and S steak and kidney in the can is the absolute business if you are in a hurry or like me can't be bothered. If you are a kidney hog, (who Moi?) use two cans pick out all the kidney for yourself, give Mr Biddy the steak (my Mr Biddy doesn't llike kidney) and also treat the dog to a slap up meal.

Fanny Craddock would be so proud...she was on over Christmas, did you see them??

PS can anyone confirm the tale, recently revived by T Wogan that at the end of one show on yeast cookery Johnny said "well that's all for now and I hope all your doughnuts turn out like Fanny's"??
Sounds delicious woofy . Only prob is I cannot get suet over here, well I can buy it off the kidney and render it or something but can't do that. I use Royal Baking powder for micro dumplings and they are light and fluffy - would it work for your pudding????

Vinny who are you calling a mammoth? - the hairy bit was right so I borrowed your razor to do my legs - it's a bit blunt now, sorry....you'll have to grow a real beard.

woofgang a search says it was David Coleman who said that.....hahaha....I wouldn't know if it's true but I hope it is

"And for those of you who watched the last programme (Fanny and Johnny Craddock), I hope all your doughnuts turn out like Fanny's"
(David Coleman at the start of Match of the Day)

No IAP I did not know that Phyllis Primsrose-Pechey lived and died in Eastbourne, but she was snobbish enough. I wouldn't have been at all interested in her then and I hated cooking.
