The subscription fee would not determine if you can access The AnswerBank or not. It would only disable adverts. We're not sure how much the subscription would cost but for the purposes of this poll, please answer assuming the fee would be an amount you would be comfortable with. If you would never pay any fee, no matter how low the cost, please respond "no".

How much is the fee likely to be?
Depends how much the fee would be
No, I wouldn't pay.
If we pay a subscription would we have more input regarding moderation?
I don't know how many folk are active on AB but using responses from past votes/surveys, what percentage of members tend to respond to them and is that likely to be representative of the membership?
It might stop people having multiple IDs too. I'd be happy to pay a subscription.
Depends on the fee, it's like the referendum, make a decision without knowing the implications!
WOLF, what input would you want? Would varying rates allow more influence?
You mean would I pay a fee to give my professional opinion ?

No.
Could this vote be amended to include "if yes, what is the maximum you would pay?" with options?
Corby - no, I just read of people who are unhappy with the system of moderation, it needs tweaked.

Posts are removed - they could leave the username of the person who posted and a mention of why it was removed. Something like - advert, posted on the wrong thread, nasty reply etc.

The site, on a whole, is good but there are many areas where a small change would be good. Something like numbering the answers, that would make it easier to find an answer that you have been referred to.

I'm off to 'work' now, I look forward to seeing how this thread goes.

what pay to read some of this cr-----p?
on yer bike !

I don't see adverts on ab . . .
WOLF, you could make those suggestions at the moment without a subscription.

Unfortunately, some suggestions might appear sensible or relatively straightforward to implement but the technicalities of doing so might be too time-consuming or not cost-effective.
Depends on the cost.
The "amount [I] would be comfortable with" might be wildly different to others and as I don't pay to avoid ads on any site, I have no idea what a reasonable figure is likely to be.

You must have some figure in mind, surely?
No - the ads don't really bother me.
Another site I use asks for voluntary donations at the start of each year & seems to cover its costs easily. Guess it depends how much people like it for that to succeed.
Yes I would
No.
