The subscription fee would not determine if you can access The AnswerBank or not. It would only disable adverts. We're not sure how much the subscription would cost but for the purposes of this poll, please answer assuming the fee would be an amount you would be comfortable with. If you would never pay any fee, no matter how low the cost, please respond "no".

Plainly it doesn't make sense to have a subscription fee for a website that answers questions, so glad to see that isn't being suggested.
Ads don't bother me to the extent that I would pay not to have them: they DO bother me to the extent that I would try to block them and believe it is unreasonable to do other than warn people they are using one, as other sites do.

Most people know how to get around Ad fire-walls, so a subscription for an ad free site would only affect those who did not have this knowledge and would be unfair.
A totally subscribed service for everyone would be fairer and would knock on the head all the spam posts. However, moderation would have to be over-hauled and some interesting content added through blogs, promotions/advertising through special offers to members etc.

No,but I wouldn't pay a subscription for seeing any site I use on the internet. And what's more AB would have to be improved before I would consider it. Moderation is not good enough - as others have said. The editing team should not rely on moderators so much and take a more active part. It's not a very professionally run site. Just my opinion. Please don't ban me!
I use AB mainly on a PC. Maybe 90% PC. 10% tablet.
With the larger screen on a PC, I find the ads are visible and do their job, but are largely unobtrusive.
Not the same for phone users though. With my "builders' fingers", I don't even know how they manage it ;o)
I spend quite a bit of time on Youtube. I've been thinking about subscribing to it only because their ads are the interruptive type. Apart from being banal, they just get in the way.
Psychologically, I think the AB ad type is far more effective than the irritating Youtube interruptions.
