Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince

Now that JK Rowling has officially named her next book who do you think is the half-blood prince?? I initally thought it could possibly be something to do with Neville Longbottom, but have since remembered that both his parents were wizards therefore he is full blood. Anyone any suggestions as to who it could possibly be??

Way i see it, snapes gonna be the big guy in seven, he's gotta eventually be dark arts teacher then so his background and full story's gonna come out along with the stuff with james and lily etc.
That means dumbledores story and mysteries have all got to come out in this book, particularly since he'll prob be killed off in 7 when harry will take over as the only person voldy is afraid of. He was nearly beaten at the end of book 5. He will be the key figure, it will prob explain his background, blood ties, why he trusts snape etc. He also fits the role doesnt he, he has ensured all students esp halfbloods and muggleborns are accepted at hogwarts, he is a griffindor, an excellent wizard, a likely heir to godric griffindor, who would be a king. He could equaly be a prince who is a halfblood or a prince of the half bloods
Also everyone who critisises dumbledore, malfoy etc, always cite his love of muggles and half bloods as a weakness. also think when they kill of dumbledore, mccgonnagal will be headmistress.
Dont think it will be tom riddle as he and voldemort are one and the same, they cant be separated now without conjouring up an entirely new body for tom. I think the only way it could be him is if that part of the story was entirely in flashbacks, like the start of GoF, not the diary and is the story of the first war and how tom became voldemort. This would mean that instead of Harry Potter FIGHTING the Half Blood Prince as would normally happen it would be Harry and the STORY of the HBP. The conflict element of the story could then be set in the present, away from the half blood prince, and involve the giants and dementors and vampires and stuff. How cool would that be!!! I dont think it will happen though!
I had recently read a section on various websites that indicated there was going to be a chapter or two explaining a character that has been named but was not so important. DEAN THOMAS would be one that was half blooded, his mom being a muggle, and his father walking out on the family supposedly to try and help stop Death Eater raids.
Harry might be considered the heir to Godric Gryffindor, but what does that have to do with anyone being the HBP...JK already stated Harry is not the prince..although i like the idea that the prince is Godric becuase of his influencial thoughts and morals that lead on throughout the books, especially emphasized in CoS
I am sticking with Dean Thomas or Godric Gryffindor..
Dean Thomas- look at jkrowling.com and click on the Mug (Extra Stuff) and click the Edit tab above Characters..and read the clip on Dean Thomas..This shows that he was going to be very importan and might be later introduced in a book..hmmm?
Gryffindor- had morals and rights leading for muggle-borns..believes in bravery and the respect deserved for all..he was influencial int he fact that any person were able to attend Hogwarts..i just cant wait to see who she chooses
To Kelly_Hsu - the Tom Riddle who is killed along with his parents at the beginning of GOF is Tom Riddle Senior, NOT the Tom Riddle who becomes Voldemort but his father. Rowling refers to the dead Tom Riddle (Senior) as the "grown-up" son and at some point during the series, possibly in COS, it is explained that when Tom Riddle Senior found out that his wife was a witch he left her and returned to live with his parents. Also, in GOF, when the old man is taken for questioning, he says he saw a strange, dark-haired teenaged boy hanging around -this is the murderer, Tom Riddle Junior aka Voldemort. The Mr and Mrs Riddle mentioned in GOF were Voldemort's grandparents.
I like the dean thomas theory, the fact she says specifically that she was going to put it in book two but it didnt seem right is telling. His story is really noble but I dont think enough clues have been dropped, i think the teachers would have told him or treated him differently, and moody would have specifically mentioned dean's dad in the order of the phoenix photograph he shows harry.
