Now that JK Rowling has officially named her next book who do you think is the half-blood prince?? I initally thought it could possibly be something to do with Neville Longbottom, but have since remembered that both his parents were wizards therefore he is full blood. Anyone any suggestions as to who it could possibly be??

i think it is going to be someone like serius (i know he's dead) but it could be, or it might even be hagrid???
Personally I think it may be possible that it is Tom Riddle. I understand that he is Voldemort, but I think Rowling may be saying it was Volemort when he could be freely named as Dobby had done in the 2nd book. I'm still not positive though. -westiegirl20
anyone who thinks it's harry, dumbledore, neville,or a new character is an idiot. it's tom riddle. no question about it.
What or where is Tom Riddle a prince of? He's a half-blood, but he's not a prince.
I think it is Seamus Finnegean because in the first book he says that his dad is a muggle and his mom a witch. Of course it could also be someone relateed to Ron because also in the first book JK Rowling mentions his uncle or other close relative is non magical so that relatives son could be counted as a half blood and could be a prince
on jk rowlings website jkrowling.com she reveals that mark evans is the key to book 6, harry potter and the half blood prince. she says that mark evans is the heir of gryffidor and harry is somehow related to him. so mark evans is the half blood prince, he's harry's great aunts son, he's the heir of gryffindor, he lives up the pillar of storge and he owns the mystic kettle of nackledirk. if u do't believe me check it out urself. visit www.jkrowling.com, click on the paperclips, then the envelope with other stuff the faq poll.
Hello? Sweetie, what have you been smoking? ;-) You're getting quite creative there. At least make up something that's not so easy to disprove! :-0
On page 13 of the U.S. version it says "So who've you been beating up tonight?" Harry asked, his grin fading. "Another ten-year-old? I know you did Mark Evans two nights ago-" I think it is Colin Creevy, Evans, or some new guy. IT IS NOT HERMIONE!!!
redneckgurl: It could be Mark Evans. J.K.R. never said Evans went to Dudley's school. And besides he can't be in High School if he's 10!!!!!
Not a new character cos there have been no hints and its book 6! I like the Hagrid idea, but what about someone from the past? Gryffindor?? or else someone we know isn't as pureblood as they think...
Its not Neville hes a pure blood. Its not Malfoy his mums on Sirius' family tree and hes a pure blood. My top 5 are Tom Riddle, Seamus Finnigan, Hagrid, Godric Gryffindor and Dumbledore. Anyone who thinks Mark Evans is significant, check out JK Rowlings website, the FAQ section.
I actually think Neville Longbottom is the Half Blood Prince. Well just i can't be Ron because the title would have to be different because the title singles out one person and Ron isn't an only child. Neville is and we only know bits about his parents all we know is that his parents is they powerful people, were forced into insanity by voldermort, and that they were in the Order Of The Pheonix. So how do we know that Neville's, Dad (or Mom) wasnt a prince (or princess) oh and thing about neville being pure blood thats in the magical world, maybe his Dad was a prince and his Mom was villager (or the other way around), and that makes Neville a half prince, cause both his parents were not Royalty so he isnt a full prince but half prince.
OMG OMG!!!!! remember seamus finnigan in the first book he said he was a half blood???!!!! what if its him??? they dont exactly say a lot about his past? and i heard we're supposed to learn more about someones past!!!!
well any one who has gone to j.k. rowling's site would know that it is neither harry nore voldemort. also it says in book 5 that voldermort went for not the pure blood (neville) but the half blood (Harry) like himself. i think it might be seamus because he is half n' half.
oops i posted that before i read all the others sorry to anyone who thought it was rude i was trying to get a point across umm also her site said that mark evans was of no signifigence (i am having a hard time spelling right now because its summer so if i dont spell something right try not to go hard on me)collin creevy is a good guess because she did say the HBP was in the chamber of secrets and she never said weather or not he was in the sorcerors stone well thats about it again sorry to anyone who thought i was rude
I think that the Halfblood Prince is Tom Marvolo Riddle. Who else is just introduced in CoS? He's not Voldemort.I have just one other thing to say. Mark Evans is not on pg.17 but on pg.13. OK. One very last thing. How did any of you figure out the Maiden name of Lily Potter?
i think it is tom riddle, because he is half blood, he is one of the half bloods in the book that was originly going to be called HBP. although she says HBP is nbot voldimort or harry potter, Tom Ridle is a differant person all togeather, just as is explained in the second book.
If anyone has relized both voldemort and harry are considered half bloods. Harry is considered a half blood b/c his mother was muggle born. and voldemorts father was a muggle as well. and dumbeldore said that voldemort found harry as a threat b/c he was most like him, a half blood(If you consider how the wizarding world looks at it)
I think that it is Hagrid. I mean, think about it. It cannot be a new character after CoS (since it was the working title of the second book). Hagrid IS half-blood - wizard/giant. plus: you wouldn't automatically think of Hagrid as a prince.
the half blood prince is tom marvolo riddle (or I am lord voldermort) JK Rowling said this on her website. Considering that Voldermort is half blood, shouldn't this be obvious????!!!
