Eyebrow threading

Have any of you ladies had this done ?
I was in town this morning and there was a stand in the shopping centre and they were doing eyebrow threading for a fiver .I dithered :)
Does it hurt ? My eyebrows are nowhere near as thick and dark as they used to be these days but I was wondering if it might make them "look" neater and thicker.

Some years back I had to Google it as id no idea what was involved and frankly the title of it was mind boggling!

Yes, I get it done in a little Indian place that charges £4. It smarts a bit at first but it`s no worse than plucking your eyebrows. The worst bit is when they get to the outside end of the eyebrows. The results are much neater than you get with plucking.

£5???? I pay about £14!!!

Anyway, it is brilliant, it hurts no more or less than waxing plucking but is much quicker than plucking and you get a really well defined shape with threading. I won't use any other method now.

I always have my done along with a shave (cut-throat razor) and haircut at a local Turkish barbers. Would recommend it, only slightly uncomfortable.

I have had it done in a few places (Harrods, Fenwicks, Selfridges) and it was fantastic. It makes them very neat and tidy.I usually wax my eyebrows so pain isn't really a problem. However, I had it done recently at The Ideal Home Show, some girls had a stand and I thought I would give it a go. It was extremely painful and I ended up scarred! The silly moo didn't do it properly. I have learnt a lesson that I should only go to places I trust!

My daughter gets it done and is a bit red and sore till the next day.
I employ the upside down comb and downstroke of the Quattro myself, always remembering to keep my tongue in, in case of accidents.

I get it done every three weeks or so, it hurts like a bar-steward but I also find plucking very painful (plus I'm useless at it), and the results are very good. I go to place locally run by some indian women and they're extremely good at it and it's a fiver. The most I payed was in central london in one of the department stores and that was £15 for the exact same thing that I now pay a fiver for.

I absolutely hate going and having it done, but it does look good. (And I'm probably a complete wuss when it comes to pain so best not to pay much mind to my moanings).

I cried when I had my one and only professional brow waxing. Couldn't believe Id paid some cow to inflict pain on me.

Now I just plait 'em.

I have never done anything with my eyebrows, except pluck a few stragglers out occasionally, but they seem to disappearing at the ends now!! Old age is unkind.

Thanks everyone .I may give it a go then .Tbh I've never plucked my eyebrows ,well not to alter the shape just the odd one between the brows and the one hair in the middle of one eyebrow that sticks up :)
My eyebrows have become sparser due to thyroid and I can't get the hang of brow make up or eyebrow pencils .I usually just brush them over with vaseline :)
This sounds so vain at my age but I've got new specs and need to define my eyes a bit more .
Or I'll disappear into the wallpaper :)

I haven't had it done personally as my friend who is quite brave about pain, told me it was really painful - I'm sticking to my own tweezers!

I think I'll risk it .If I can stand the pain of arthritis I can stand having a few hairs pulled out !

I find it depends who does it. I've had some very painful experiences with and some not so much. It can be uncomfortable if they make you hold things taut while they thread. I'm not a wuss pain wise (us arthritic things don't really have the option do we :)) but although the finish can be better I'd personally go for waxing given the choice.

I love waxing, I find it quite relaxing, especially in a nice salon where you can lie down and they take their time. I wish they would offer that too in all the threading bars popping up. Lots of places do it for £5 round here too.

If you've lost them or once they've been threaded/waxed? The answer to the latter is yes.

Avoid at all costs the "salons" who use a razor blade!

shaneygo for it. I had mine done for a fiver. I too have little eyebrow to pluck but had the 'stragglers' underneath the brow tidied up. I will have thenm done again for Christmas. You're not being vain x
