I need HELP!! I am a single mom with cancer. I have a pending disability case but no income in the mean time. I am getting evicted from the one bedroom apartment that my child and I share. The engine in my car blew up the other day and now I don't even have transportation to get to my doctors appointments. I need money for food, rent and a Christmas pressent for my child. If you have a car you dont need that runs, that would be great too. Everything I have told you is the truth and I can verify anything you want to know. I know there are people who play on your sympothy to scam you, but thats not me. Please help if you can. Even $5 is more than I have right now. Busy Bee, Salvation Army is here, but they are out of funds. you see our unemployment rate is higher than its been in more than 25 years and they have exhausted all of their funds already. I called an agency that we have here called "first call for help". It;s a referral agency. I called every contact they gave me and the only help I was able to receive was a box of food from the food bank. which we have already gone through and you can only get help from them every 6 months.

Sounds daft but is there anything you could sell?Your childs old clothes you can make quite abit on ebay.Pawn jewellery..Do you have local charity shops where you could possibly pick up used toys for your child..I no our social secruity can give out emergancy loans to tide you over have you asked about this?It really disturbs me that your suffering like this.But never ever give up its bad now but i can garuntee things will get better..

I hate to think that I'm not helping someone in desperate need. However, I don't think that if I sent you a small donation it would be enough to help you with all that you need solved. I'm sorry you are so sick and times are hard at the moment but hopefully the authorities will be able to help you. Maybe you should try to chase them up and explain the urgency of your case. You can then explain to your landlady that you are doing your best and hopefully her kindness will continue until you are sorted.

It can't be easy to try and sort things out when you are very ill as well. I think we all want to help you if we can, but quite honestly sending money isn't really the best option for you or for us.

well money is only one of my problems and it's sad but it's not my worst problem, but it would sure help. My doctor says, stay positive and stress free because stress makes me sicker, but I don't know how to do that when I can't even take care of my child.

try a womans shelter if you are fearful of abuse from your partner.
5 months is a long time to have to wait for benefits, chase them up, tell them you have your eviction papers.

Hello Tina , sorry to read this thread and feel so helpless .
If you were in this country it would be easier to point you in the right direction for help , in fact you wouldn't be homeless for a start . Social services would be in place .
Do you have a church to approach , as has already be mentioned , they may be able to get food and a few xmas presents for your child . x

I am willing to give Tonia the benefit of the doubt. Unfortunately, people are very suspicious these days - not surprisingly - but sometimes a desperate person will cry out for help and we need to be open minded. I think we have all tried to help in different ways. I really admire Lakitu. She is willing to help out a stranger with more than just words, a real good Samaritan. I would send a gift if I knew the age of the child (but it wouldn't reach the USA before Christmas). I don't know whether gifts can be sent to Box Nos.

I can quite understand pusskin's sentiments, as there are always people out there ready to dupe others into handing over money, 'specially via the internet.

However, I haven't stopped thinking about Tina's plight & others like hers, as it does pull at your heartstrings & I have plenty of those I can tell you.

I feel that I would like to offer at least toys for the little one for Christmas & money too - but, as pusskin has said, you just never know.

I thought sending a pressie for the child would be the best idea. I don't think a scammer would benefit in any way, but if Tonia is genuine then she will welcome the idea.

There's something about this that makes me think it is genuine as Tonia has been very willing to communicate even though we have stated we will not send money. I have lots of toys that are as new and I would gladly send one.

I understand that people may be sceptical, because poeple have been scammed so much. Thank you to those who have offered kind words and more. My child is a 13 yr old boy. His name is Jesse. He is such a good kid and he loves me so much. He has taken care of me when i was so sick from radiation that I could not even get out of bed. I just wish I could give him something for Christmas. I have a special plan that is only $6 per month for poeple with medical problems so i can't call long distance or anything, but you can certainly call me if you like. I have medical records, letters from disability, my childs report card, what ever proof you need. I would never do anything dishonest like "some" of you are thinking. I may not be on this earth much longer and when I leave I want to go to heaven.
