Osteoporosis

I have just been diagnosed with osteoporosis in my hip.My Dr. has prescribed Alendroic Acid[Fosamax]I have read bad things about this drug.Has anyone had experience of using it?

yes, i have been taking it for a few years, is it the weekly one?
Anyway, as long as you take it as prescribed it should be ok

Yes it's the weekly one.There's so much adverse publicity about this drug that I'm really scared to take it.I have two friends on it & they seem to be OK.My friend's sister,however, has had bleeding stomach problems.
Thanks for letting me know that you're OK too.Think I'm going to join the National Osteoporosis Society after Christmas.I feel very alone at present.

Mr yogasun has been on it for some time as he is on steroids - has had no ill effects whatsoever.
