Purpose - one month of the booze starting today, a support group to help, cajole, berate any ABers to meet this goal. The benefits being the drying out of the old leather known as the leather and a lack of ethanol in the body helping to lead to weight loss - which can be a couple of pounds a week.

You are welcome to join us and rant away with our grumps and withdrawal symptoms and then become all-saintly and righteous when we get towards the goal.

Any questions? Though sibs and I won't necessarily answer them. Will Sqad contribute on any medically related issues?

DuckytheCock - we have had far worse than your typing on AB. There is at least a comma and a question mark in more or less the right places. Not convinced that you have consumed anything today (yet).
It will mean that I have to change what we eat as well. No more roast beef, salmon, steak, spaghetti bolognese. It will have to be pie and chips or bacon and eggs.
DT if the rest of the population are anything to go by the shops and pubs will not suffer too much.

already got a new bottle of blackwoods to start when i get back in march. even more reason for the diet as i have jsrmembd about an inch of sipsmith that also needs finishing.

lol carpie.....

why, Tilly? Your "let's open a bottle" food I presume?
Question Author
lol and imagine you will enjoy the trip North even more.....they have some serious poteens in Scandinavia to go alongside the beer.
Tantalus still intact, (not for long). Was doing duty watch at poorly rellies for a few days. Bobbed in and out of AB (connection permitting) just to keep an eye. Nappy Hew Reay to everyone. I will try and make Page 1 tomorrow morning. dtcx
Roast beef without wine will not be the same. So, no more roast beef.
Question Author
I agree, Tilly, same with roast lamb too.
oh shyt i've just thought that i'll have to cook in completely new way. tads of butter, little drops of cream and splash of alcohol are how i cook. or hopefully, does cooking get excluded? if i promise not to try the alcohol (a small glass orso) first can i still cook with it?
grasscarp you are far too wise!
L-J, how's the arm?
Lady Janine, would you really be able to add alcohol to a recipe without drinking ANY. What would happen to the rest of the bottle. It does go off very rapidly you know.
Dicky you have an amazing memory. I am all completely fine now thank you. Happy New Year to you.
I didn't drink for 9 weeks at the end of last year............never lost an ounce.
Oh I didnt notice the L-J there. It is her arm that you are asking about. Thought it was about the day I said on here I had burnt hand/arm pouring boiling soup into blender!
Sorry carpy I didn't know. How did you manage that?
Stick Blenders are the way forward. Have you seen the light?
I lost 4lbs over Christmas that I didn't particularly want to lose. I never eat or drink much at that time of year. I feed everyone else but the sight of copious mounds of food puts me off eating almost entirely.
grass - just add more to the cooking. that way i would not drink it. might be a bit slooshy and over-laced but don't suppose anyone will dare complain.

dtc - thanks for asking. still not straight and not very strong but not hurting as much as it was. can raise it up and touch top of head now but ring and little fingers still useless. but, and this is very important, nowhere near so much pain. hoping to be able to drive again in a few more weeks. yippeee freedom.
I got it safely in the blender then switched it on and somehow the boiling soup flew out over my lower arm/hand. Daughter then gave me the stick type that you mention. : o)
glad to hear your arm is completely recovered grass. have been wondering about getting a stick blender.
Question Author
cooking with alcohol is ok as the ethanol gets flashed off.

glad to hear the arm is mending, Lady J, even if the road is long......
