I just bunged my prescription in and they wanted roughly the same as Specsavers charge. The big difference being that the Specsavers price included new frames, whereas their price was for re-glazing existing frames.
Specsavers are very cheap nowadays. I don't spend much on glasses as I'm of a clumsy nature. I think I paid just over £100 for two pairs of glasses and an eye test. One normal pair and one bi-focal.
My kids all wore glasses as little ones and at the time they could only get two pairs a year on the NHS (I think this has changed now) and the prices were shocking back then.
I have used them, they were fine but the lenses are plastic. I paid £19.00 and the glasses I received were worth no more than that. You get what you pay for. I would use them again, no problem. The other issue, without a measuring and fitting, you may not get a pair that fits very well.
Thank you all I went to Specsavers for an eye test and I think I'll stick with them for my specs. Why would an answer need to be removed from an innocuous post like this?
