11 days post op and yesterday the site where my canula was placed suddenly has a large hard sore lump.
Is this normal do I need to get it checked out on Monday with a nurse or do I observe and see if it gets larger?
Any help gratefully received as since the op I panic over the slightest thing.

Might be best first of all to phone the hospital where you had the op and ask their nurses if it's normal. If they can't help go and see a nurse at your GP surgery or walk-in centre.

So.....where was the canula inserted...hand? neck?
I am going to assume it was in your hand.
First of all, it is nothing to do with blood clot in a vein or lung clots. It could be the reaction to a stitch or a blood leakage which has suddenly hardened (haematoma).
No big deal, no need to panic, monitor the situation.
Do you mean an I/v cannula on you're hand/ arm ?
Question Author
It was in my arm about 4 inches up from my wrist and it was an IV for fluids, for whatever reason the fluids suddenly started going into my arm and not my vein so they removed it. But this is a new lump and it just seems a bit strange to come up so many days after the op.
My answer 0941 remains the same.
You're I/ v tissued, keep an eye for extreme heat around the area and the increased swelling.
