Sorry guys. Am quite traditional, but I accept everyone I do. As they are whatever they are they are whatever WE are.

But,

Why is TV full of non heterosexuals. Mainly gay people these days.

Is it only me that feels this?

Well me and my husband that is?

Why is hetrosexuallness not being celebrated the same way it's like tables have turned big time?

Just my opinion....

I know asked the new incoming Ed to sort the clock out - didn't realise it had been turned back thirty years.
In fact I am surprised at the the extent of people who are gay 'men' and, despite such fact, endeavour to portray true masculinity by growing beards.

Crikey
I endeavour to be clean shaven every day ... shut that door!
lol, nice one, Mamya.

Look at the muck in here ...
@Mamyalynne...Please accept an apology from me. I thought your remarks were directed at me. Little did I realise that you were expressing personal feelings about yourself.

@gness...I can fully appreciate your last comments to me. Furthermore, pleased that you and Sunny-Dave had a good evening in the Lighthouse.

@ummmm.....Please believe me when I say that I am Not a 'stirrer' but a person who likes to establish the truth of matters.

Hans.
I was expressing my thoughts about what I see and read on here, there are wonderful people and some who appear to have very narrow views.
Hans...this is a Q&A site..no one is obliged to give you the truth of matters.

@ummmm......I am able to appreciate that folk are not obliged to give truthful answers in AB. However, I think if you put a question in the Technology section of AB you would expect me to be honest with my reply. In fact I always endeavour to give truthful answers and,as I Do Not have superior knowledge on Technical matters, I often back-up my advice with an Internet Link to show that I have searched the Net for an honest answer.

Sorry FrillyPancake for having digressed from your very fair question.

Hans.
Gawd, this thread flushed a few things out but I think i'm mostly reeling form the idea that gay men grow beards to 'appear' more masculine!?! My wonderful, beautiful bi-sexual partner has a beard because he likes them and they suit him, not to try to 'prove his masculinity' - the same applies with the gay guys we know who are beardies, they don't need to appear masculine because they ARE masculine, as they are men. Why do people assume gay men are effeminate? Have they never actually met any, or do they assume that all the gay men they meet must actually be straight because they aren't flouncing around. To answer the original question, no I haven't noticed a lot of gay people on TV lately, but then that's the sort of thing I wouldn't notice anyway because IT. DOESN'T. MATTER. ( and straight people don't need to celebrate their straightness because it's never been illegal, caused them to be ostracised from their society or family or discriminated against- although please celebrate it if you must) :/
@kvalidir......I think this will be my last posting for tonight because you are now making matters even more complicated,

You say you have a beautiful Bi-sexual partner, which could then make me think that, as you approve of Bi-sexuality, you are likewise. Perhaps, therefore your partner has a beard to hide the fact that he is Bi-sexual. I honestly don't know, but am confused. not only by Homosexuality but Bi-sexuality which is, to me, is totally incomprehensible.

Hans.
Hans, you think kval's partner has a beard to hide his bisexuality?

Sometimes nothing to do with sexuality, but a lot of men have beards now because it's trendy.

I know some gay men. Most of them are not flouncy and effeminate. The few that are work as actors or performers. I don't know if that's relevant.

What incredible logic!!!

Maybe Kvalidir wears a beard too.
Hans – please yourself whether you ignore my post or not – but for the record, the reason why men grow beards is the same reason anyone of any gender does anything with their appearance – because they think it makes them look nice.

I think you are over-thinking the notion of gay men ‘wanting to seem masculine’ – as I said earlier, I suggest you don’t know very much about men – straight or gay.
My husband grew a beard because he wanted to look older - now I am beginning to wonder if it is because he wanted to hide something else!!!!
I feel the question hanging in the air is: If a beard makes a man more masculine, why is it oft combined with a man bun, completely defeating the purpose?

Lighten up girlfriends. :)
^ More masculine looking. ^
What a desperately sad, ignorant and bigoted thread to wake up to!

FrillyPancake and Hans have just dropped into an abyss when it comes to my estimation.
To the OP; //Why is TV full of non heterosexuals...//
I'm not sure it is full, but much of the top management consists of male and female homosexuals and there exists a 'secret' network, (as in the art world) where they aid and employ one another.
Channel 4 is by far the most glaring example.
Just as the BBC is full of Lefties, entertainment is being taken over by non-heteroes.
I don't watch a lot of telly, but channel 4 has one of the programmes that I do watch. As far as I know, the presenters are not gay. Can you give examples, khandro? Just out of interest.
