Cystitis Treatment......

Well, having never had it before and being diagnosed over the phone (our doctor isn’t seeing anyone face to face) I’m assuming she is correct. Either way, the pain when passing urine is absolutely horrendous - I’ve never known stinging like it. And the whole area is burning and feels raw. It’s hurting just to sit down. Doctor has given me Canesten cream but is there anything else I am do/take to ease the pain? Sorry for delicate nature of question x

good, then as stressed ask GP for AB medication, not canestan as that's for thrush - why they gave you that i don't know. My mate had it rcently and was prescribed AB for two weeks

except it was a cream, which is used for fungal infections.
last time i had cystitis i was given anti biotics.

My wife only had antibiotics for cystitis once, when it hadn't cleared up after a few days.

Over the years she has had it four or five times but other than that once it cleared up by itself within 3 days. Still unpleasant, though, and she did feel poorly.

The one 237's recommended is an Oral Solution which is exactly what she needs. Look at my link.

The oral solution isn't a cure, it is a relief. No better really than bicarb in a glass of water. In Smow's OP she says she's been given the cream.
