Cystitis Treatment......

Well, having never had it before and being diagnosed over the phone (our doctor isn’t seeing anyone face to face) I’m assuming she is correct. Either way, the pain when passing urine is absolutely horrendous - I’ve never known stinging like it. And the whole area is burning and feels raw. It’s hurting just to sit down. Doctor has given me Canesten cream but is there anything else I am do/take to ease the pain? Sorry for delicate nature of question x

When I had it when I was pregnant it was absolute agony. Unbearable. If it is left untreated it can lead to much worse things.

Without a proper diagnosis no one should be prescribed antibiotics. In the meantime self treatments are useful.

Just rang surgery again. Receptionist is going to speak to the doctor and then call me back x

she only called 15 minutes ago!

They’ve called me back and asked me to drop a urine sample into the surgery, which is in my road.

Doctor has called me back already. She says I have a severe urine infection and need antibiotics ASAP, so she has sent prescription direct to pharmacy.

She said to stop using this Canesten as it’s not going to do a thing.

Was it the same Dr. who prescribed the cream ?

No a different doctor. Mr smow it taking me to pick it up in a min.

Yes I will. This one seemed surprised that I wasn’t asked to drop a sample in yesterday. She said to try and wear a skirt or at least very very loose clothing and no underwear. And as soon as I’ve finished the antibiotics she wants to do another urine sample.
