Where are all the men ?
I've just been chatting with my friend and both of us have been single for some time. And we were wondering where all the men ? All we've noticed lately are boys in men's clothing. Surely there amust be men out there who are intelligent, attractive, who have good sense of humour. Are we just being picky ? Has anyone else been experiencing this ??

now to act single puts out all these signals like a flare gun that says "desperate" its hard to explain but for examplei get so many girls chatting me up when im in a relationship than when im single. You will really have to think about this as unfortunately i cant explain well at all. but acting single is a very big turn off for both sexes
I think he means that some girls act as though they are the top prize in the raffle and that any man would be lucky to even get a look in they are so great. It's a huge turn off to be presented with a very pretty potentially nice girl whose so up herself that she's actually prepared a list of pre-requists that she requires in a partner before she will even contemplate him. It's anal and not of the real world and you may as well have a sign saying Leper in your head, as all you'll get is stupid players who'll be a huge disappointment because you won't come off as nice and sincere so that's the qualities you'll attract.also drop the hangup with numerical age. some people are ready for commitment at 20 and others never are, you're really narrowing your field and not being at all fair to the men who fall outside of your percieved "catchment zone" of around 30.
If I had listed my ideals as you have, my first wife would have fitted them all and my second practically none of them. My first wife was hell on earth to spend 5 minutes with and my second is the most wonderful creature that ever graced the earth. Open yourself up a bit and stop looking, then you'll find that the right man just comes along when you least expect him.
I dont know how this has ended up being a cross examination of my "singledom".
Just to set the record straight I've been out with a fair few blokes who haven't met my ideal, both younger and older, completely different interests in every way. I've dated them because there was some kind of kizmit between us, and the relationships had both their ups and downs and they lasted for as long as they were meant to.
From what you guys have said about "acting single" I dont think I do. I dont prize myself above all others, I tend to think of myself as quite average. But I do have standards certainly, otherwise I'd end up dating any cretinous mass that came my way.
Admittedly I did fall into a steretype by insinuating that most men below the age of 30 arent interested in commitment, I'm sure there are some, admittedly I did have a boyfriend who was 6 years younger than me that was baby mad!
I think my original question of "where are all the men?" has become rather redundant in that maybe if I stop looking and waiting I'll find the right guy. But thats all well and good for smugmarrieds to say stuff like that coz they're not alone. Dont get me wrong I love my life, my bed to myself, eat what I want, not answering to anyone, but sometimes it would be nice to have someone to cuddle up to now and again.
Or maybe I should seriously think about taking up either mountain climbing or golf......hmmmm???
I didnt dismiss you jimboy2, just your silly antics about your manhood.
You've come out with some quite thoughtful answers. But I only judged you by my own experiences, which is what everybody does and made an assumption. And you've proved me wrong which is always great. Dont get me wrong I'm not someone who judges you and then tells you to get lost, I always dare people to prove me wrong.
You may indeed be my one, but I'm not prepared to wait and find out if someone wants the same things that I want. In previous relationships I was fine with letting a relationship go where it was meant to go.
I just want to find someone who's head is in the same place as mine. Who's passionate and knows what they want out of life.
now demon girlie now im gonna really put you off me!!
i am a boy. every man i know is a boy.
my dad 47 loves model tanks.
i am 23 and want a toy lightsabre. me and my mate were in woolworths we seen them ran and had a fight in the middle of the store in front of his girlfriend it was well fun the look on her face, well put it this way you couldnt afford it with a mastercard. i love lego and loads of kids programs like spongebob squarepants. now you might be wondering why im telling you this? because even though i am immature i am reasonably intelligent and that is one part of me, i love having intelligent conversations and being immature is another part of me so again believe it or not even us men have layers! then again what i wouldnt give for a real lightsabre........
I enjoy kid things too jimboy2, I've been known to go into certain toy stores and make the moving animals follow each others butts!
I love all kids films, like the Incredibles and Monster Inc. I have a younger brother by seven years and we frequently sit on the couch cracking up over toilet humour. Or he and my sister have farting competitions which I find hilarious.
We all have layers and its fun not to be responsible and logical all the time. Everybody has their crazy immature moments, its fun being a kid again. I certainly enjoy it!
