Hello all,

I heard the other day that fat-free salad dressing is one of the biggest "No No's" you can eat, mainly because of all the extra stuff they put in to replace the fat!

So as we are almost heading into salad season (even if the weather doesn't quite agree yet) how about some low calorie salad dressing recipies or even some interesting salads that might not need dressing?

We welcome anyone serious about losing weight and we offer support and kind thoughts - not magic fixes, just sensible help.

Don't forget your weekly weigh on Wednesday and remember we don't judge!

Thanks Wendilla. I bet you will have lost a pound by next Wednesday. You're so determined, and you're a brilliant support to everyone on here... so give yourself some of that support :-)

Hi Jan well done . Regards bread I just stick the whole sliced loaf in the freezer . I don't use bread at lunch time it is usually a roll or crackers or Rivita when I have my right head on. The slices are easily taken apart.

Yes Ratters good info that is what I try to do.

Bread is a difficult one - I usually have soup for lunch, and have a roll to go with it. I steer clear of bread otherwise, if I can. If I'm feeling especially virtuous and disciplined I'll have a couple of oatcakes instead.

The scales have been up and down this week, I'm going to take it as a STS (stay the same). I have had remarks on how trim I'm looking :)
Thanks for your kind support folks. I have virtually given up bread and eat no more than a slice a week as a treat. But with OH unwell recently its been a funny old time. I will look again at my off days to see if i can identify whats going wrong and whether or not i'm pretending to myself! Always a possibility of course!
Well I am on the move at last have got 1lb off this week. I have had 3 salad meals with chicken and 1 fish . This week I am cutting the bread down and I know that will help as that is my weakness. Onwards and Downwards at last after staying the same for so long.
Well done wendilla, that will boost the moral again :-))
Thanks Ratters it certainly has .
Well done you Wendilla you're moving on the straight and narrow again. Your perserverence is a lesson to us all.
I hope your hubby is soon on the road to recovery Maydup. At times like this what you put into your mouth is not number one priority. You'll get back on track when you get peace of mind again.
Well today for midday meal I had Tuna Sushi followed by an apple, the Sushi was surprisingly filling and less than 200 calories. I must do that more often.
Well done Wendilla and all who lost weight!!! I stayed the same, but was expecting to have gone up, so not disappointed.
Gosh, I don't think we have had so many posts as we have this month.
I had puy lentils with chicken last night, really nice, low in calories and cheap! Carakeel cooks the chicken in those cooking bags with just a few spices, works really well and because the bag is totally sealed it doesn't dry out.
When I get bored of chicken on its own I have small portions of different sauces frozen. As I live on my own a large tin or jar is too much so I put it in small containers and freeze them 2 mins in microwave or less and there defrosted. Then just pour over chicken. My fav flavors are the bbq or the jars of homepride mild chilli or curry. Then have that with my veg.
Marjm staying the same better than a gain so hopefully this week you will lose.
Thanks Wendilla, Yes, next Wednesday I want to have lost half a pound at least :-)
I just made and ate an exciting salad (without serving it nuddie OG) I mixed fresh pineapple chunks, banana slices, grapefruit wedges with iceberg lettuce, thin carrot strips and made a dressing of lemon juice with a couple of drops of sweetner. We had it with fish but it would also go well with chicken or just alone for lunch with perhaps lo fat cottage cheese.....
That sounds really nice Xstitcher. I had pigs liver cooked in chopped tomatoes, with cous cous, very nice. I was a bit naughty though, I had a small piece of vienetta ice cream afterwards.
Oh pls ratter don't mention ice cream. Hubby has some in the freezer and now I am thinking hmmmmmmmmmmm
Ok, I didnt mention it, not at all! but it was really nice!
That sounds good to eat Xstitcher. Must get a pineapple tomorrow.
Couldn't resist sending post #200. I got the idea for the salad after watching a Spanish couple enjoying one like it at a beach restuarant and made up the dressing from one mentioned on this thread.
