Hello all,

I heard the other day that fat-free salad dressing is one of the biggest "No No's" you can eat, mainly because of all the extra stuff they put in to replace the fat!

So as we are almost heading into salad season (even if the weather doesn't quite agree yet) how about some low calorie salad dressing recipies or even some interesting salads that might not need dressing?

We welcome anyone serious about losing weight and we offer support and kind thoughts - not magic fixes, just sensible help.

Don't forget your weekly weigh on Wednesday and remember we don't judge!

Thanks Wendilla. I bet you will have lost a pound by next Wednesday. You're so determined, and you're a brilliant support to everyone on here... so give yourself some of that support :-)

Wendilla, my old name was notafish. I'll join you in a biscuit-free week :-)
Hi Jan I know that it will not put you off as you have been out star .It is right what Xstitcher says. Good luck for next week
Yes remember now re notafish.I have been Adsa and as I had to pick my grandson up and bring him back my house till mum or dad picked him up I gave him the rest of the biscuits home with him I had bought for him and they were chocolate so would not have done me much good so made sure they were not left here.
That's willpower for you, giving your chocolate biscuits away. I don't think I could've done that.
I know I would have eaten them if I had not got rid. My motto is if I don't have it in cupboard or fridge I can't eat it.
Good for you Wendilla...
Well done with your loss of a stone taichi. Now that is something to really be proud of. Too bad we can't bottle the feeling that goes with it.
Xstitcher, lol, i'm not feeling low over my weight loss, im actually really pleased, I just had a little glitch for a few days, I'm back on course and losing again, I'm quite happy really and it helps when 3 people today commented on my weight loss and enquired how I lose it so easily lol.
Fresh giant king prawns and rice today with just a little sweet chili sauce.
Can I come and eat at yours ratter?

I peeled one kilo of large prawns this morning and will use some in a veg stir fry and freeze the rest. I saw that my Lidl had the king prawns...unpeeled....and will get some at another time mmmmmmmm. Also glad to hear that you are getting compliments from friends....way to go !! Enjoy your meal.
bit down again as i only lost 1lb at docs weigh in ,at least i didn't gain
Mallyh well done but don't say ONLY. 1lb is a lot to lose amd you are going the right way.
Ratters yes it gives you a good feeling when people notice .
mallyh, any loss is better than standing still and much better than gaining, keep it up, you will get there, the slower you do it the longer it will stay off.
Aye, wish I'd only lost a pound, still the way the scales are making out I've been going up not down, the odds of losing by next Wednesday must be decent.

Unfortunately I've discovered one thing today. I realised I'd had more bread than usual this week when I finished a loaf by the end of Thursday. Knowing how many slices I had over the last few days, I worked out what a typical breadmaker loaf should be, and then divided by the number of slices I'd had. It turns out that the WW suggested value for a slice of *sliced* bread (given to me decades ago) is apparently about half of what my hand cut slice is ! Perhaps that's why progress has been so slow for me: not that I intend to avoid bread. One needs a slice with soup at lunch. Then there is the occasional sandwich for tea, not to mention toast for breakfast two or three times during the week. Arrhhh ! I need a low cal bread recipe !
thanks wendilla and ratter15 for the support x
OG here is some reading for you on low cal bread.

I often have two slices of toast with marmite on after breakfast and maybe twice a week I will have a sardine sandwich, other than that I dont touch it. I really love chunky cheese sandwiches, I haven't had one since my diet started in January :-(
Thanks Wend. Have skimmed the first page, seems to be more about bought loaves though, whereas my woman likes to bake one for me each weekend. I'll check out the other pages this evening but I think I'll also do a web search for lower calorie flour. It is by far the biggest cause of the calorie level, but to be fair it is the biggest part of the ingredients too.
Interesting, I shall analyse them soon. Problem is the two recipes I've just looked at seem to be higher in calories than the bread I'm already eating, if I trust the nutrient per slice figures :-D

Hard to please ain't I ;-)
One unwanted side effect of the loss (I've lost a lot of inches lately though the lbs are slow) - I've gone down a cup size bra wise :(

Still, hubby keeps calling me 'skinny woman' :D
