Hello all,

I heard the other day that fat-free salad dressing is one of the biggest "No No's" you can eat, mainly because of all the extra stuff they put in to replace the fat!

So as we are almost heading into salad season (even if the weather doesn't quite agree yet) how about some low calorie salad dressing recipies or even some interesting salads that might not need dressing?

We welcome anyone serious about losing weight and we offer support and kind thoughts - not magic fixes, just sensible help.

Don't forget your weekly weigh on Wednesday and remember we don't judge!

Thanks Wendilla. I bet you will have lost a pound by next Wednesday. You're so determined, and you're a brilliant support to everyone on here... so give yourself some of that support :-)

Well done Taich I have always taken cod liver oil capsules.

Smowball agood loss again and yes agree with you about the soup

Well done Jan you are back with your fighting spirit again.
Mallyh good luck for your Friday weigh.

Ratters well done that is when I get hungry near to dinnertime . I normally have a drink of water and it hepls for a short while. I dare not have a cup of tea or coffee or I will want a biscuit with it.
Well done all the losers!!! I've put on a pound but was expecting it due to Easter eggs and party food. Never mind. . . onwards and downwards :-)
Thank you all for your support. If i need a boost between meals i either have a piece of fruit or a rice cake with a scraping of spread and marmite.

When you next go shopping, double the amount of fruit you buy. Have grapes, satsumas, apples, plums, kiwis and a few bananas for example. Not only will you enjoy the variety but you'll not want it to go to waste! I find it easier to resist biscuits or toast when there is fruit over ripening in the bowl.
Well done everyone. Unbelievably I managed to lose 4.5lb this week which is my best ever loss despite having put on half a stone over the past three weeks. Hopefully I will be able to keep this up!
Thanks for the tips Maydup. Here is a link to some good banana info which I think is good for us.....

^^^ thanks for the banana info, I do eat about 3 bananas a day, im now back to 2 bananas and an apple.

I just love bananas!!
Well done Sheenam, that's a great loss. I love bananas too but limit them to one a day, usually with my cereal in the morning.
Very useful info about bananas.

I do just buy a few: maybe four a week or six if OH is likely to eat a couple. That way they become my treat and I might use half each with some yoghurt as a dessert.
I've just done my after dinner piece of fruit...a Granny Smith today. I cut in into boats and then each boat into 3 and then......lightly salt it with lo salt. Sounds crazy I know but we used to do this when I was young, with green apples to take away the bitterness....it's a Canadian thing, but give it a try...cutting it up into small bit size pieces makes it last longer.
Good Morning All, I'm down a pound which makes me happy and keen to keep up being good. I hope good news is coming from the rest of you.
Good Morning and well done Xstitcher. I just can't seem to shift anything just staying the same but now the weather is improving things should soon look up.
No change for me either folks; but I agree about the weather, it will help enormously to be able to get out for a walk and to enjoy more salads again.
After the now traditional jump up over the Tuesday/Wednesday period the week sees me down ¾ of a pound. Something at last.
very disappointed at last fridays weigh in i stayed the same even though trousers are getting looser .hope you are all well and shrinking x
Well done you losers, im pleased with a loss of 2lb exactly, I was really naughty last night and I had a BigMac at 550 calories, I need a few strict day now to kick them calories into touch! They made me eat it, it wasnt my fault!!
OG That's a start I wish I could make a start then I would get going from there but as I say once the warmer weather is here it will be easier. I am keeping away from sweets and biscuits so that helps .
Mallyh good luck for this week .Sometimes I have read that you can lose inches sometimes even though you don't lose weight.
Well done Ratters. It was difficult for me the last 2 weeks as my grandson was here some days. I took him Macdonalds one day and of course no one forced me to have that big mac it just landed on my table. I am lucky I have not gained.
All you Big Mac people being forced to eat them....ha ha. It happens!!!!

Congrats to all the shrinkers as Mallyh so aptly called us.
Just decided I'm glad I note all this stuff in a text file, as I can look back and see how badly I'm getting on, since I seem to be almost unchanged, long term, so far this year.

As it turns out, between New Year and 10th April last year I lost 6 ⅜ths lbs which whilst not spectacular for over 3 months after the Xmas blow-out, isn't anything 'to be sneezed at'. Compare that with the period between New Year and 10th April this year and I've lost only 6 ⅜ths lbs.

Ah yes, congratulations to all you didn't gain this week. My sympathy to those who are on the naughty step.
Well done losers, and I can join you with a surprising 4lb loss this week taking my total loss to 8st 10lb. That 10st is starting to look achievable now.
