Hello all,

Sick of talking about the weather so as per a brilliant suggestion from xstitcher, what is your favourite slimming salad to eat in the summer (or any time of year).

Let's see who can put the most interesting ingredients together that are still low calory.

We welcome anyone serious about losing weight and we offer support and kind thoughts - not magic fixes, just sensible help.

Don't forget your weekly weigh on Wednesday and remember we don't judge!

A pasta, prawn and celery avocado salad. use a large bowl add a good drizzle of olive oil, lemon juice freshly ground black pepper and sea salt. cube the avocado and add to the bowl, the lemon juice helps stop the avocado going brown and also makes a nice dressing, give it a stir to coat then add the chopped celery and stir again. boil some pasta, i use fusilli...

1lb down today, phew. I had a couple of meals out at the weekend but have got back on track since. I realised that i am also able to avoid over indulging these days, where as in the past, i would have gone made and been greedy when it came to courses and portions. Now i can have one after dinner chocolate and no more, rather than blowing it and helping to finish of the box!
Well done Maydup I think it gets to you like that after a time as you know that if you empty that box you are in trouble. I had a very large box of Thorntons. on Mothers day I still have not opened them as I have not lost enough to warrant them as a treat as I have not been losing continually each week like last year.
Good for you maydup. I can back up Wendilla that it does become a habit to be good.
Hi OG, well here we are. It's been a while but not my favourite place to be.....sigh, sigh.....
Well done you losers, I can feel im on my way to the naughty step if things dont improve soon! My weight has gone up and down a bit through the week but I am now the same as I was this time last week, so nothing too much to worry about. Mind you I did have a few treats in the week :-( I had a 12inch double loaded Subway and an extra large Cornish pastie, that really should have put me on the naughty step but I have got away with it again. I promise to be good all this week and show a loss for next week.
Good Heavens Ratter I think I just put on another pound thinking about it. How do you get away with it? You must be very active.
Actually xstitcher im not very active apart from walking the dogs and a bit of gardening. I'm fairly surprised when I don't put weight on as well. I think my body is used to eating vast quantities of food, I was a very big eater but I only ever had a beer belly, that is what I'm trying to lose. I think that because my body is used to such huge meals I am getting away with eating more food on my diet. Carakeel is pretty much on the same diet as me but I eat 4 times the amount but still losing weight faster than her. Oh well, I aint knocking it.
That dog walking can be your dsaviour. I have a friend who just got a dog about a year ago and her walks, even though they don't even take an hour really have put her weight back where she wanted it. Since I can't have a dog myself because of our moving back and forth to Spain perhaps I should start up a dog walking business lol.

We used to have a dog but she died and then the lo fare airlines put a stop to any hopes of getting another one.
That is when I managed to maintain my weight when I had my Lab. But can't have another now. My kids dogs think they own my house .But I can't take them for a walk too strong.

I have given myself a slap on the wrist and am sulking on the naughty step. Two weeks off the diet (been a bit stressed and had a few problems) and put on 11lb!! It's so hard to lose but so easy to put on! Back on it with a vengeance today though so good luck all for next week. Just got to keep telling myself I've done well losing 8st so far and can get back to losing again.
Last tip of the day......looking for a veg to brighten up your meal.....lightly roast some tomatoes....large or small...just make a cut at the top at give them about ½ an hour.
Oh Jan....I'll bet that hurts, but you can get back there. You'll have to give yourself an extra wobble now and then to help you along....
Hello Jan please please don't worry. I told Ed at the start of this posts for June that you qre our star loser. I got it wrong when I said 6 stone. This is the worst time when you have lost a lot then get stuck but having problems don't help. Lets hope you will get over your problems and get back on track. Good luck for next week.
I forgot to say that I am sorry you are having problems now Jan and I hope that they sort themselves out pronto. You are too nice a person to have bad problems.
Thank you for your very kind messages xstitcher and wendilla. Was a bit of a shock putting on that much but only have myself to blame and know completely where I went wrong. Now back to being good and sticking to it this week. I didn't write anything down for the two weeks so back to keeping a note of everything I eat and drink and lots of salad for me now the weather is warmer. Lots of wobbling as well. Good luck to you both too. xx
Thanks Jan. Hubby is having a BIG birthday this week which will entail lots of goodies so I am not looking forward to next Wed. with much optimism but hey ho there is the week after that and so on......
I have just done that tip that XSTITCHER put up about roast tomato. I put one in my halogen with my chicken pieces. Also had boiled springs greens carrot and new potatoes.
LAST ONE....I promise......try baking an onion. You don't even have to peel it, just cut the ends off and stick it in the oven or on the grill....
