Onwards And Downwards Continues In September 2013

Hello all,
Welcome to this month's Onwards & Downwards. We welcome anyone serious about losing weight and we offer support and kind thoughts - not magic fixes, just sensible help.
Well we were lucky with the weather this summer weren't we? So I hope loads of tasty salads made it into your day. Now we are heading into autumn the kids are going back to school and for some this means a thankful return to no tempting snacks in the house.
But sometimes you just need a little something to keep you going until dinner so how about some ideas for healthy snacks (thanks again xstitcher) to fight the cravings and keep us on track.
Don't forget your weekly weigh on Wednesday and remember we don't judge!

A handful of almonds or another nut of your choice. I find them really filling and only need a handfull to keep the hunger pangs at bay.
Obviously not for those with an allergy though.
Have a look at this:

I kept forgetting to say thank you for the idea Janbee. I like a handful of pumkin seeds.....just the dried out natural ones....not the roasted as they are sky high in things we shouldn't eat. They have a lovely nutty taste. Thanks to you Ed I will now eat nuts now and then ..... if I can keep down to a handful...
Same state as the last time I posted xsticher. Thanks for asking. The root bit is actually done, although to me honest I'm now feeling sensation which I wasn't expecting and wonder if some of the root is still there. Come Monday I'm to have the cap fitted, and pay the horrendous bill.
Molars usually have 3 roots. My dentist initially found just 2 and said some only had 2. Then a further inspection found the third very close to one of the others.
Hmmm... talk about dentistry on a diet thread eh :-D
Glad it sounds as if yours are getting sorted finally.
Meanwhile I'll butt out of the salad discussion (yuk !). Chinese buffet sounds nice though, but it sound like one of those once per 6 months type treats, to me. They have a pleasant Chinese buffet place near me. Can be variable though (he says having only been about twice). It can be good, but sometimes I think they don't have the turnover and the food seems not quite the same somehow.
