Sent them the letter regarding my charges and an amount with all the legal jargon two weeks ago. Just this second phoned them up and they said we still haven't logged it or either received it. What should my next plan of action be? Can I proceed straight to small claims court? If so how would I go about this? Thanks in advance!

Firstly write to RBS and tell them that they have 2 weeks to respond before you take it to small claims. You will win as the banks know there is no defence so they are relying on apathy. The threat should be enough but if it isn't file your claim (add on the 120 cost onto what you are claiming). Your local court will have an information pack, it's very simple.
