If the doctor had transitioned what was the nurse's problem? Would she refuse to treat transgender women patients on the wards until they had also transitioned?

well the doctor began transitioning 3 years ago and holds a GRC. The doctor is in all respects legally female.

Fife NHS don't exactly emerge from this smelling of roses. appallingly managed all the way along.

If this person has the gender recognition certificate that states this person is female the hospital has no choice but to allow use of women's facilities. 

It's not right, it's not just but it is the law, regardless of what's in the underwear

Wouldn't it be easier to have three changing rooms. Likewise toilets for 3 kinds of people. Perhaps I'm too naive.

That wouldn't work.  Transgender persons would then have even more choice of which facilities to use.
