Sorry if this has already been said, but a man on topsecretrecipe.com has made a good living in finding out the recipes for top food chains and telling you how to recreate them! I did the KFC recipe including the gravy! Very good!

I wonder how they get the McDs beefburgers to taste so different from the ones you get in shops like Birdseye etc? In their ads they say its just beef and a bit of salt but I have my doubts.

My hubby used to work for an abattoir who provided for McD'S and they ARE 100% beef BUT...................... you wouldn't really wanna know what cuts of beef they are. Might put you off!

I very rarely eat McDs Pinky so its not really a problem. Would I be right in thinking connective tissue etc?

Well, not too far off. It would mostly be off cuts and bits no-one else will buy! They use every bit of the cow except it's head and hoofs.

-Supermarkets get the 'meat' that we are used to buying.
-Dog food manufacturers get off cuts 'meat'
-Eastern counties get skin and inners (don't know what for, but skin for leather I presume)
-MCd's get skirt and off cuts they can't sell to supermarkets, so it could be a variety of meats. Pot luck! lol!

Not sure about them, they didn't have chickens there! I do have a little soft spot for KFC tho lol! My only vice x

Beef skirt is a lovely cut of meat. It is great in pies, stews and casseroles - not a yukky cut at all.

Waitrose sell beef cheeks, so the head is certainly used in the UK, especially braised in Guinness.
