Why do people go for fast food such as Macdonalds, Ketucky?

Why when there is other delicious, tasty, healthy alternatives in the same vicinity such as in shopping centres, do people insist on queueing for the usual rubbish? People are so stuck in their ways and won't try anything different.

To infer that people are 'stuck in their ways' because they like chain-takeaway food is to infer that people are too stupid to explore other alternatives, which is a rather high-handed attitude to take.
People eat what they eat because they like it - and in the case of MacDonald's - there is an agreed standard and price that means you get the same food for the same price nationally. For a seriously large number of people that fits the bill.
If you prefer more divergent and healtier alternatives, that's fine, but food snobbery is not an attractive character trait.
