I have never been a great lover of cheese, like it toasted but not like straight from the fridge, but as i got older, i find myself trying out new ones, like bavarian smoked, and ones with fruit in, and the mexicana, but i find myself addicted to feta cannot resist it, what about you?
Cheddar and Stilton-both the stronger the better. Current fav blue is St.Agur-I can easily gobble a whole wedge...mmmm! Mozzarella di Bufalo Campana and Ricotta-when really fresh are good mild cheeses. Tallegio-though somewhat whiffy,is great for melting.
Wensleydale with cranberries. Only allow myself a sliver as on a medical low fat diet. Unfortunately means some has to be thrown away because of use by dates. Oh to be able to buy small portions of tasty treats! Suppose they are non-profitable.
The Co-op does a wonderful (pre-packed) Gorgonzola which, perhaps surprisingly, is as good - or better - than expensive delicatessens sell. It's beautifully creamy and packed with flavour. Like al good cheeses, it benefits from at being out of the fridge for at least a day before consumption.
Keen's Cheddar (sold by Waitrose, on the deli counter) is also superb. It's made from unpasteurised milk, which gives it much more flavour than most other cheddars.
I love cheese and it would take forever to list my favourites. So, to narrow it down, all the while I admire the efforts of Keen's cheddar, my favourite cheddar is Godminster. The Godminster cheese has the most incredible texture and I absolutely love it.,
