Daughter off back to uni this morning so I offered to make her a bacon sandwich.
When I was about to put bacon on bread she dashed in and said bacon was not cooked properly - then sprinkled brown sugar over bacon.
I have never heard of this.
Anyone out there tried this.
Maple syrup on bacon is a must! I wouldn't have it any other way. (I need some Americans or Canadians to adopt me!) I could live on pancakes, bacon and maple syrup with some strawbs and blueberries on the side....yum!
We often have pancakes and bacon, or sausages, with syrup for supper. The syrup always sneaks over to the bacon or sausage side of the plate and it's not a bad combination. However, I wouldn't actually put syrup on a bacon sandwich
Not for me. I like American breakfasts but can't do the sweet and savory together (well, not syrupy - I guess marmalade is the same kind of thing!).
When we were in NY my ex used to have all the pancakes and syrup and ice-cream and such for breakfast, I stuck to sausage, egg and home fries, gorgeous!
Canadian bacon is lovely too, had the most gorgeous breakfast of that and proper hash browns in Yosemite.
